Friends,
We need to know your preferences about camping and accommodation at Tiona Reunion 2020 by 23rd February to help us make our booking with Tiona Holiday Park.
Please complete our 5 minute SURVEY - this survey is for everyone who is thinking of coming to Reunion in 2020. It's important that you complete this survey if you are thinking of coming.
Thank you,
Jan, Dione & Julian - Camp Committee
Metamorphosis - On December 8, 2019, at the end of the budget session of the World Church Finance Board at the Temple, President Steve Veazey provided these comments.
We invite you to pray over these words, read, study and share them.
What is its meaning for us today? What does God ask us to do? Who does God ask us to be?
Wendy Ballard, on behalf of the Tiona Chapel Fundraising Committee, acknowledged the “generosity of all those that contributed to, and participated in the successful Silent Auction” that was held over the week of Reunion, “Our thanks goes to all that played a part, the Auction was a huge success and would not have been possible without your help and support.”
The first Kid’s Ministry resource for this year has just been released:
Shine a Light on Injustice - 9th of February 2020
Available in our Kid’s Ministry Resources section of the website.
While the Community of Christ has always held that we respond like mandatory reporters to any reports or suspicion of child abuse, as of the 17th of February, ‘people in religious ministry will become mandatory reporters to Child Protection’. While this is specifically for Victoria, it is a principle we would like implemented around Australia.
In 2020, the church will consider the question - Are we moving toward Jesus, the peaceful one?
This question appeared in President Steve Veazey's closing message of World Conference 2019. Our hope it that it shapes and guides us as we journey toward World Conference 2022.
Registrations are now open for Uplift 2020 - Women’s Retreat held at Tiona on the Mid-North Coast of NSW 13-15th March.
A weekend to relax, renew and be uplifted through sharing of faith, findings, friendship, & festivity - Are you ready to take flight?

The theme for Reunion 2019 was ‘Building Community….towards peaceful humanity’. Camp Director Jan Thompson, welcomed the 180 campers with these words: “You are valued, and you are loved, and we are very glad you are here. This week we invite you to breathe deeply, love abundantly, share openly, play joyfully, and drink in the beauty around you.”
Our hearts go out to those who are battling blazes, supporting communities and preparing for the worst.
Our campground in Victoria, Kallara Conference Centre, has recently been evacuated as a precaution as there is a fire to its west in Euroa. Kallara is not expected to come under threat directly, however to be safe we have directed the guests staying there to evacuate and they will be led out by one of our members from Euroa to safety. We will continue to watch and update where necessary.
May we join our efforts with those supporting relief by donating directly to emergency services in your state, the Australian Red Cross, WIRES or your local relief effort.
May God’s spirit rest with those in need as the summer continues.
After months of negotiations, I am pleased to announce that the Tiona Management Lease has a new owner. Tiona Investments Pty Ltd will take over the operations of Tiona as of Wednesday 18 December 2019. CEO Rob Jeffress has many decades of experience in business, the short-term accommodation and tourism industry, management, marketing and media. Rob is the chair of the ASTRA (Australian Short-Term Rental Accommodation Association) Board, has significant business interests in the MidCoast area and is a resident of Boomerang Beach for large parts of the year.
Support4Pancare is a Victoria based fundraising group, with every cent raised going to the not-for-profit charity: Pancare Foundation. Their recent Cup Day fundraiser sausage sizzles brought in $2,975.35, taking the total for the year to over $20,000!
Having, sadly, lost friends to liver/pancreatic cancer, founding members were inspired to take action, starting the group to raise awareness and funds, both for research as well as to and care for people diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer.
